About Us

Robl Design Build, Inc. was incorporated in 2000.  It was started by the father/son team of Frank and Chris Robl, both of whom have a passionate interest in building construction, quality home design and architecture.  Frank was a Registered Civil Engineer, a structural engineer for Bechtel Corporation and The Boeing Company, and has taught classes on the design of timber structures in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Washington.  Chris has a degree in Computer Aided Design and has worked for The Boeing Company in aircraft design.  Both Frank and Chris have had extensive hands-on experience in home remodeling, deck design and construction, and furniture and fixture design and construction for their family and clients.

In the early years all design, permit, physical and administrative work was performed by Frank and Chris, except for electrical and plumbing labor.  As project size and complexity increased, and to limit the size our business, qualified subcontractors were identified and employed to take on various disciplines as our requirements evolved.  Our hands-on experience in all disciplines enables us to effectively manage all our subcontractors.  Each of our subcontractors is a small local company with whom we have developed a close working relationship over the years.

All of our projects are managed on a day-to-day basis by Chris as project manager.  He procures all materials, schedules and manages all subcontractors, and is the interface to clients, architects, and building inspectors.
