Decks   



A large deck was designed and built to nestle into a hillside that rises steeply from the back of the house.  The shape of the deck, like the prow of a ship, mimics the shape of the roof above. 


Recessed and elevated planters, together with benches, help to define the edges of the deck while connecting it with the surrounding landscape. 


Elevated planters have a waterproof lining to protect the finished siding on the outside. 


A bridge connects the deck with a path in the upper back yard, and steps connect it with the lower side and back yards.
